Re: Is Auction Inspector worth the money?
Fellow Reseller,
Let me tell you what I think about most eBay software.
I hate eBay software.
I've used so many tools in the past that should never have been
released because not only do they not work, they completely
waste time I could be using to do research.
Back when I first started
my eBay business in college, a friend of mine was doing work for
one of eBay's largest sellers at the time, and they had a tool
they wanted to release... a piece of eBay auction software.
And this thing was a real
pile of garbage. I'm glad I got to test it out for free or
I would have been requesting an immediate refund.
And so my longstanding
disdain for eBay auction software was born.
So you can imagine what I
was thinking when I was asked to look at The Auction Inspector.
I was sitting there
thinking, "Here we go again."
Call me jaded if you want.
I prefer to think of it as realistic.
Once I finally make it to their web page, I'm greeted by this
headline:
Are
you looking for ideas to make
a KILLING on eBay?
At this point I'm thinking,
"It's on now. I hate hype."
"I'm gonna tear this
thing to shreds, and nobody will want to buy it after I get done
with it."
But then I decided to skim
the actual salesletter and I even read a few of their gazillion
or so testimonials. It sounded like some people out
there actually liked this product and were using it to make
money.
So I decided to bite the
bullet and give it a try too.
I got the software
downloaded and installed, which I'll admit was simple and
painless. I'll give 'em credit there - they at least made
it easy on me.

Now before I go on about the software, let me explain to you how
I've always done product research in the past.
I would browse products
that I knew I could get from suppliers and then go do a
completed items search on eBay to see how much I could typically
get for it. It was painstakingly slow work since
most products aren't worth selling on eBay unless you can get
one heck of a deal on them.
I could spend entire days
searching for products to sell and come up empty handed.
But I kept at it and here and there I would find products I
could sell at a profit. It was time consuming and tedious,
but it sure beats being out of business.

Okay, back to The Auction
Inspector Software...
After playing around with
it to get familiar with the interface (I suppose I could have
read the directions, but c'mon, I'm a guy!) I started using this
tool to look for phrases that had potential in each category.
Last year around Christmas
time I literally spent an entire week doing research on toys
that I could sell around the holidays, so I figured the toys
category was a good place to start since I was already familiar
with what's hot and what's not in that niche.
"Then I hurled my pen at
the screen."
This thing was starting to
come back with phrases that I had painstakingly determined over
several months of work and countless hours of research.
And here this damn thing
was making all those hours of my life spent doing research a
complete waste.
Needless to say, I was
impressed.
It was actually able to
find products that were in high demand but had little supply.
I wish I had this thing last winter when I was still doing
things the old fashioned way.
But The Auction Inspector
certainly proved it had some value to me.
Now The Auction Inspector
software isn't perfect. It can only tell you what it
thinks has the highest potential to be a profitable product.
It's still up to you to
locate those products at prices that make sense. For
example, it might show that iPhones are in high demand, but
getting them at true wholesale prices is next to impossible.
However, that's an extreme example, if you've got a good
wholesale supplier or you do your own importing, you'll be able
to uncover stuff.
So with all that said, yes,
I do
recommend The Auction Inspector as an auction tool worth
owning for anybody who wants to make more money with less time
on eBay.
Recommending this product sure surprises the heck out of me
- I wanted to rip this thing a new one - but it actually worked.
